Senior Adults

Often in a church the senior adults are a forgotten group, but at Edgewood they are a vital reason we are growing. Almost 50 years ago a group of believers from 2nd Baptist Church had a vision to reach the northwest section of Hopkinsville for Jesus. Many of these believers continue to be a vital part of our community of faith. Their vision continues to beat in the heart of this church.

We have many senior adult Bible Study classes grouped according to age, life situations or interests.

Our senior adult ministries are diverse and numerous. Our PEP (People Enjoying People) meets monthly, taking day trips to a wide variety of interesting places - theatres, historical sites, and recreational sites. PEP hosts wonderful fellowship meals where the spirit is warm, friendly, and welcoming.

Several Women on Mission (WOM) groups study local, state, and international missions and encourage Edgewood's participation in active missions support.

The seniors of Edgewood adopt and assist several community ministries. They are involved in food pantries, clothing shelters, building projects, nursing home support, and soup kitchens. They also collect and distribute clothing to Oneida Baptist Institute in Eastern Kentucky.
